Job Title: LifeNet Learning Center
Instructor
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Director - LifeNet Learning Center
The following statements are intended to
describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not
intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities,
duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
SUMMARY:
Implement learning programs for men and women clients, utilizing the
Innovative Learning Systems curriculum in conjunction with outside resources
when needed. Test, evaluate, monitor, counsel, and manage students in the
LifeNet program
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement integrated learning programs
utilizing the Innovation Learning Systems curriculum.
-
Test and evaluate student abilities and
performance. Make recommendations for programming.
-
Consistently monitor student activities
and track student progress, utilizing tools such as goal setting sheets,
weekly student progress reports, etc.
-
Maintain appropriate student records.
-
Work with students in a supportive,
loving, effective manner. Assist them to build self-esteem and to develop
workplace skills.
-
Provide Christ-centered spiritual
leadership for students. Be an example.
-
Effectively model workplace behaviors and
focus on developing these skills and attitudes in students. Model and
encourage excellence.
-
Attend staff, supervisory, and in-service
meetings and workshops as required.
-
Work effectively with volunteers,
ensuring they are well trained for their work in the
learning centers, that they are treated with respect and dignity, and that
their time is
used wisely.
-
Be a good steward of resources, managing
to achieve excellence of performance,
efficiency of operations, and joy in God’s service to others.
-
Other projects as assigned by director
i.e., teaching WorkNet classes,
assisting with special events, etc.
-
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelors Degree in a related field is preferred, but will consider
experience in lieu of degree. Proficient in basic math, language arts and
Microsoft Office products. 1 to 2 years experience with Adult GED and/or
literacy programs is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:

Knowledge of principles and practices of
training, evaluating and providing work direction to others.

Self motivated and demonstrate
initiative.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication
skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of
constituencies in a diverse community.
-
Respect and patience for individuals with
educational barriers is a must.
-
Strong multi-tasking abilities along with
great organizational skills.
-
Detail orientated, analytical and
proficient in Excel spreadsheets.
-
Able to support UGM’s statement of
Christian faith and share that faith and knowledge with staffs and clients.
-
Passion for the work of the UGM.
