Job Title: Director of Gateway
Program - Part Time
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Men’s Programs
The following statements are intended to
describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not
intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities,
duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to develop an active release plan for men in
the prison system to successfully re-enter a community setting with the
outcome of developing participants educationally, spiritually, and finding
gainful employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work directly with the prison system as a
liaison to determine appropriate candidates for the program.

Develop individual release plans for each
candidate selected based on a needs assessment.

Develop a risk management plan for each
candidate.
-
Provide case management to individuals on
an ongoing basis.
-
Coordinate program services both inter
and intra agency.
-
Complete all required documentation.
-
Develop resource base for additional
training and skill building.
-
Provide mentors to candidates as needed.
-
Work directly with corrections facility
to meet post-release criteria.
-
Develop program outcomes.
-
Work with candidates in providing stable
housing and re-connect with families, if applicable.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and /or a minimum of 5 years of work experience in prison
ministry or related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:

Skilled in effectively networking with
other programs/organizations, both inter and intra agency.

Self motivated and demonstrates
initiative.

Knowledge of prison policies and system.
-
Development and implementation of program
guidelines.
-
Effective leadership experience is
essential.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication
skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of
constituents.

Competent in use of computer and
Microsoft Office software applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL
EFFORT:
-
Work is normally performed in a typical
interior/office work environment.

Standing or sitting for delivery of
presentations or facilitation of groups.
-
Hearing and speaking to exchange
information in person and on the telephone.
